COUNSELLING FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS
Practical, Compassionate Counselling
Tall Tree offers counselling for youth and adults, with appointments available in person, online, and in nature. Our Registered Clinical Counsellors hold a minimum of a master’s degree and follow established professional and ethical standards. We also offer reduced-cost counselling with Clinical Counselling Students and non-registered clinical counsellors, helping make support more accessible. Working alongside our broader mental health team, our counsellors provide thoughtful, personalized care to help you better understand what you’re experiencing, develop practical strategies, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

What to Expect
Whether you’re new to counselling or looking for a different kind of support, we’ll take the time to understand what brings you in, answer your questions, and help you find a counsellor who feels like the right fit. Counselling is available in person, online, or in nature, depending on the counsellor you choose.
Book an appointment or contact us to learn more.
-
Your first appointment is an opportunity to get to know your counsellor and talk about what you’ve been experiencing. Together, you’ll explore your goals, discuss what you would like support with, and begin developing a plan that fits your needs. If another Tall Tree clinician or program would be a better fit, we’ll help connect you with the right care.
-
Follow-up sessions build on the goals you identify together. Depending on your needs, you may explore your experiences, develop practical coping skills, work through challenges, and find new ways to move forward. The number and frequency of appointments will depend on your goals and your counsellor’s recommendations.
-
If you need support with a specific concern, challenge, or decision, a single session may be a helpful place to start. These focused, one-time appointments are designed to help you identify practical next steps without committing to ongoing counselling.

Many extended health plans cover RCC sessions. Tall Tree direct bills ICBC for eligible counselling claims. Note that we are not able to direct bill for counselling through other extended health providers — however, you can submit receipts manually to most plans for reimbursement.

If you are in crisis, please call 9-8-8 (the national suicide and crisis helpline) or the BC Mental Health Support Line at 310-6789 (no area code needed), or go to your nearest emergency room. Tall Tree counsellors are not a crisis service, but we can help you connect with the right support.
