What to Expect - Nature Therapy

  • If you are booking an initial appointment, please click “Book Now” and select the location nearest to you and your preferred contact method. You will be booked with one of our Nature Therapists to start your recovery journey.

  • For your initial session, you will meet with your therapist by phone or video to get to know each other and to choose a place to meet where you feel comfortable. For your first in-person session, you will meet in Nature and will move, talk, play, and connect with the natural environment.

Being in nature provides a unique avenue for growth, learning, and connection with oneself, others, and the ecosystem in which we live.

  • Together, we reconnect to the beauty and simplicity of the natural world and to tune into our own state of being. Guided forest therapy walks involve:

    • An introduction to the practice and an overview of what the walk entails

    • Present-moment awareness of the body and the senses

    • Connection with Nature through a series of invitations

    • Opportunities for sharing and reflection

    • Closing circle to gather and share

Walks can be tailored for individuals, groups, families, and/or corporate groups and are based on your accessibility needs.

NATURE THERAPY

Tall Tree's Nature Therapy is a unique approach that incorporates experiential activities, play, nature connection, and therapy to support growth and wellbeing. Our therapists meet clients in nature-based spaces where you feel comfortable - the locations are tailored to each client.

GUIDED FOREST THERAPY WALKS

Gentle, slow, and mindful time in nature. Forest Therapy is based in the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, or forest-bathing. This is an opportunity to slow down, connect to our senses, notice our surroundings, and reconnect to ourselves and our environment. There is extensive research on the benefits of nature on our mental, physical, and cognitive health! Tall Tree's forest therapy walks are tailored based on your needs, skills, and abilities.
