It is difficult to describe exactly why I love being a counsellor, and why I deeply value the safe space that counselling can provide. Yes, of course, there is the joy of supporting people to reach their treatment goals…whether it be recovery, relapse prevention planning, stepping out of challenging family dynamics, or learning to harness acting out behaviour. However outside of these goals, there is the pleasure in providing people with a safe space, free of judgment, where people can be unequivocally themselves, talking about whatever it is that they wish to talk about it.
As a clinician, I bring a relational, engaged and fluid dynamic to my practise. I have various clinical ‘tips and tricks’ that I use to ground my clinical work and treatment planning, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Alongside any modality that we wish to use, I prioritize the provision of safety, compassion and respect. Essentially, I am here to hold space for anything that you wish to explore!

I have a special interest in holding space for Indigenous peoples. Summarising the journey I have been on as an ally-in-training is beyond the scope of my bio, however I can safely say that my decolonizing journey has led to an unsettling of how I hold myself as a white-bodied settler, and how I position myself within my clinical work with Indigenous peoples.
I am currently completing a PhD in the Social Dimensions of Health with the University of Victoria, in which I am exploring the positionality of non-Indigenous male mental health providers (such as myself) in how we hold space for Indigenous peoples.
