Melissa Ferguson is excited to join the Occupational Therapist team at Tall Tree Integrated Health. She takes a collaborative approach to rehabilitation and aims to create an environment where clients can take an active role in their own functional wellbeing. She believes that the best rehabilitation is relational and aspires to create strong relationships with her clients and their support teams.
Melissa obtained her Bachelor's Degree at Bishop's University and her Masters of Occupational Therapy degree from UBC. She draws from many clinical experiences that include supporting clients with concussion, persistent pain, mental health concerns, neuro-divergency, musculoskeletal injury and neurological conditions. She is familiar with ergonomic assessments, home and work assessment, and return to work and leisure after various forms of injury. Her areas of professional focus include concussion, persistent pain and mental health, with additional coursework devoted to these areas. She appreciates being able to walk alongside clients to engage fully in the lives of their choosing.
Born and raised on the island, Melissa is happy to once again be calling Victoria home and to have so many trails and beaches to explore. When not at work, she can be found engrossed in an art project, reading in the sun or cycle touring on the hilliest route she can find.
