Lauralyn is grateful to have grown up in Victoria and now be working on Vancouver Island. In 2010, she graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. After graduating from SFU, she spent two years volunteering with various mental health programs throughout Victoria where she discovered her keen interest in occupational therapy-based assessment and treatment planning. She was captivated by the opportunity to design unique solutions-focused interventions. She graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2014 from the University of British Columbia.
Following her graduation from the occupational therapy program, she worked in a wide variety of settings across the Vancouver Coastal Health region, including: GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, UBC Hospital, and Vancouver General Hospital. In 2016, Lauralyn decided to pursue her love of travel and moved to Gothenburg, Sweden. While continuing to advance her career as an occupational therapist, she thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of becoming fluent in the Swedish language. She worked in the in-patient neurological rehabilitation unit at the Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg. This opportunity afforded her the ability to learn about Sweden’s renowned healthcare system and to further develop her occupational therapy skills.
Lauralyn is dedicated to providing compassionate, community-based, and individualized client care. She is committed to supporting individuals in enhancing their participation in daily living and meaningful activities. Her career experience and diverse skill set enable her to collaborate with her clients in order to maximize their health and wellness.
