Why We Didn’t Use an Out-of-the-Box Solution

  • Better matching → With that depth of knowledge, Ella can guide patients toward the most appropriate expert for their concern.

    • For example: someone with persistent low back pain who wants to get moving again and is curious about intramuscular stimulation (IMS) can be guided directly to a physiotherapist who specializes in chronic back pain, uses exercise-based rehabilitation, and is trained in IMS.

    • Instead of a generic “Book a physio” suggestion, Ella points the patient to a clinician whose skills and interests directly align with their goals.

  • Ethical interdisciplinary care → Healthcare is rarely one-dimensional. Ella was designed to reflect that. If more than one approach might help—say, physiotherapy and counseling for persistent pain—Ella highlights those pathways clearly and ethically, so patients understand all of their options.

  • Resources and support → Ella doesn’t just lead to appointments. She also connects patients to free self-care resources, and clinician bios. This helps people feel informed and supported—even before they step into a clinic.
