Acupuncture Victoria BC

“I have been going to Lucy for acupuncture treatments for chronic knee pain as well as other issues over the past six years. Acupuncture offers a very different approach to healing than western treatments, which I have found to be extremely helpful.”

-Mel Spotswood, Parksville

Acupuncture has been practiced in Asia for over 2,000 years and remains an integral part of eastern medicine. In the west, it is a natural complement to many other therapies, such as physiotherapy, chiropractic, and massage therapy.

A study by the World Health Organization, entitled 'Acupuncture: Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials' concluded that acupuncture benefits and is effective in treating a wide variety of illnesses. Some of these conditions include low back pain, headache, allergies, depression, menopause and colitis.

How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture is based on the observation that there are patterns called meridians in the body along which energy flows. This energy, called qi, is essential for good health. Disruptions in the flow of qi are responsible for symptoms and disease.

Using extremely fine sterile acupuncture needles placed along meridians, imbalances are corrected and the body’s natural healing abilities are stimulated. Acupuncture practitioners aim not only to provide symptom relief but to evaluate your overall health and thereby discover and address the root cause of illness.

Our acupuncture clinic treats a wide variety of conditions and symptoms: migraines, pain, injury, and low energy to name a few. We also perform acupuncture for anxiety, and acupuncture for weight loss.
