Hello! I’m Rena, a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Advanced Teacher of Yoga (500hr). I’m passionate about supporting people in discovering ways to strengthen their mind-body connection, through the practice of yoga.
I love meeting people from all walks of life, and you can expect a friendly, down-to-earth and compassionate environment whether taking a group class or working one-on-one.
In a one-on-one yoga therapy session, you will be offered a personalized approach to yoga, from a holistic and evidence-based lens, based on your individual goals.
It is exciting to see the bridging of Eastern and Western medicine with the acceptance of yoga therapy in recent years, as well as a continued deeper understanding and appreciation of the biopsychosocial-spiritual (BPSS) model, to better serve people with their overall health and wellness.
I am very interested in continuing to enhance my skill set to best serve older populations, to live with more agency, peace and ease in their lives.
In addition to my background in yoga therapy, I have always had a passion for building more inclusive, accessible and connected communities, which stems from my many years as a public school music educator. I feel very grateful to the ancient teachings of yoga and mindfulness, and my teachers past and present to be able to share the practice of yoga throughout many different settings over the years.
In my free time you can find me exploring the island with my loved ones, reading and discovering a variety of musical instruments!
