Originally from New Zealand, I first came to Canada in 2007 to live & travel on a working holiday visa. Now with dual citizenship, I consider myself a Caniwi. I have always had a passion for connecting with and helping people, which eventually drew me to the massage therapy profession in 2017.
One of my strongest attributes as a practitioner, gained from my work, life and travel experience, is to be able to connect, relate to and respect all diversities. I’m a strong advocate in the therapeutic relationship between therapist and patient, and I understand that interpersonal contact, trust and communication is vital to the healing process.
My approach to well-being is based on the biopsychosocial model; I believe in the mental and physical health interconnection and incorporating mind/body connection into my treatments, which includes nervous system relaxation and mindfulness. With this in mind, and guided by my extensive knowledge in massage therapy, I support and encourage patients to also manage their treatment needs.
I enjoy treating all people and conditions; chronic pain or illness, athletic or accident injuries, post-surgery, pregnancy, stress, anxiety and/or depression. I also encourage self-care maintenance to assist in prevention of pain and to support well-being. My main modalities include Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point release and myofascial release.
Outside of the clinic, I’m usually; with my puppy Whittaker, creating art through painting or photography, exploring the outdoors, traveling, weight training or spending time with friends.
I look forward to meeting you and traveling with you on your road to wellness.
