The Healthy Aging Assessment provides a score that compares your physical function to others in your age group. We use specific tests as “biomarkers” to assess different regions of your body, each highly correlated with overall function in that area. These evidence-based tests cover key aspects of physical health. By evaluating these areas, we get a clear picture of your overall physical health, helping you understand where you excel and where there’s room for improvement to maintain or boost your independence as you age.

The purpose behind our approach

Why do we care?

The Healthy Aging Assessment has been designed to test aspects of physical health that are highly related to your ability to do the things you love - things like hiking, lifting grandkids off the ground, going for longer walks, getting off the floor. Take VO2max for example. This naturally declines with age (after around 30), but the difference between training it and not training it can be significant. This chart shows the difference between someone with a very high and very low cardio fitness (VO2max) and then some typical activities that someone might want to do. As you can see - the difference between working on your fitness with age can be the difference between walking up a hill with ease at 75 versus struggling with that activity.
