Start your career with all the support you need.
New grad? We built something just for you.
Going from student to clinician is a big leap.
In private practice, new grads are often expected to make that leap almost overnight—building a caseload, making tough clinical decisions, and figuring out how to be a great clinician while also adjusting to the realities of practice.
We think there's a better way to start.
Tall Tree's New Grad Residency Program gives new Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Clinical Counsellors the time, mentorship, stability, and real-world experience to grow into exceptional clinicians.
Why Residency?
You shouldn't have to feel ready before you are.
Your first year of practice is when theory meets real patients, real complexity, and real decisions—exactly when having someone in your corner matters most.
At Tall Tree, learning isn't something you squeeze in around a full caseload. Learning is part of the job.
Our residencies give you built-in mentorship, structured learning, hands-on experience, and time to develop your clinical reasoning while you gradually build a sustainable practice.
THE EMPLOYEE DIFFERENCE
Focus on becoming a great clinician. Not just staying afloat.
Most new grads entering private practice start as contractors.
That can mean variable income, no paid vacation, no paid sick days, and pressure to fill your schedule quickly—all while you're still finding your footing as a clinician.
Tall Tree residents start as employees.
That means stable income, benefits, paid time off, and the support of a team while you build your skills and your caseload.
You get room to learn without feeling like every empty spot in your schedule is a problem you need to solve.
And when you're ready, there's a clear path toward greater independence and earning potential.
What you get
A one-of-a-kind start to your clinical career.
-
You'll have experienced clinicians in your corner, with structured time to talk through cases, clinical decisions, challenges, and the things you're still figuring out.
-
Learning isn't homework. You'll have dedicated time to develop your clinical reasoning and discipline-specific skills through training, courses, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
-
You'll learn alongside clinicians from other disciplines and see firsthand how different perspectives can strengthen a patient's care plan.
-
This isn't another year of school. You'll be treating real patients and building a real caseload, with experienced clinicians around you when you need support.
-
Over 6–18 months, you'll progressively build your skills, caseload, independence, and confidence—with a clear path toward what's next.
Different disciplines. The same commitment to your growth.
Choose Your Residency
Our residencies are built around the skills, experiences, and support new clinicians need within their own profession.
WHO YOU LEARN FROM
Learn from people who love to teach.
A great residency depends on the people you're learning from.
Tall Tree's residencies are built and supported by experienced clinicians who aren't only exceptional practitioners—they're educators, mentors, course instructors, and lifelong learners.
They're evidence-informed, humble, curious, and generous with what they know.
They'll share their clinical reasoning, challenge your thinking, help you work through the tough cases, and invest in helping you become the kind of clinician you want to be.
A great place to start. A great place to stay.
We're serious about helping clinicians become exceptional at what they do.
We're also building the kind of workplace we want to be part of: curious, collaborative, evidence-informed, and full of people who genuinely like learning from one another.
Tall Tree is an Employee Recommended Workplace Award winner—a Canada-wide recognition of organizations whose employees report strong workplace health and happiness.
