Dr. Lauren McRae
Psychologist | Vancouver
Areas of Expertise: Psychodiagnostic assessment, Sexual concerns, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Trauma, Stress, Difficulties regulating emotions
I like to show up as a human first, psychologist second. I am a high school dropout turned clinical psychology nerd, so I enjoy working with clients who identify as outsiders as well as busy high achievers. I understand how reaching out for psychological support can be intimidating at first, so I strive to make it as comfortable an experience as possible.
My primary focus is on building strong therapeutic relationships with clients – whether our relationship lasts for years, or only a few hours, you will have my full attention. I work with clients to collaboratively understand how current mental health symptoms may be connected to prior life experiences and to develop treatment plans that feel feasible in the context of their unique lives. I love to get to know clients deeply and feel honoured when I can provide psychological education or frameworks that help explain and normalize their experiences.
Outside of work, you will either find me running around after my twin sons or doing as little as possible as often as possible!
