Virginia Beardsall
Occupational Therapist - Vancouver
Virginia (also known as Jini and answers happily to either) trained at Oxford Brookes University, England, and has experience in various areas of practice in the UK including hospital wards, supportive mental health units, and rehabilitation for persons living at home with acute and long-term neurological conditions. After moving to Vancouver in 2018, Virginia worked in Long Term Care promoting activity and advocacy for seniors as well as specializing in equipment prescription for complex seating and postural needs.
Virginia's professional areas of interest are mental health and wellbeing, including anxiety and depression management, arthritis and chronic pain management, neurological symptom management, complex seating and positioning and mobility equipment solutions. Passions outside of work include time spent in nature hiking or paddle-boarding, her 'garden' on her tiny balcony and travelling.
Virginia's principal aim is to make clients feel comfortable and heard. She believes strongly that clients are capable directors of their own care, and that her role is to work with the client providing gentle support to restore their sense of capability to achieve their goals and return to meaningful activities.
