Colleen Hamilton
Occupational Therapist - Vancouver
Colleen was born and raised in Victoria BC but has called Vancouver home for over a decade. Colleen was a city planner for ten years before she discovered occupational therapy while volunteering at a long-term care facility. It was a big leap of faith to change careers but she has never looked back, and is so grateful to be in a role where she can support people in reaching their goals and seeing meaningful change in their lives.
Colleen completed her Master of Occupation Therapy at the University of British Columbia, where her research focused on the prescription of wheelchairs for people with very complex or unique seating needs. She has experience working in diverse settings, including acute care, community mental health and substance use, school-based pediatrics, and neurological rehabilitation. Colleen has a particular interest in persistent pain, concussion, mobility and adaptive equipment, and trauma recovery.
Colleen is thrilled to be part of the team at Tall Tree. During her master’s degree, Colleen completed a placement at Tall Tree and fell in love with the culture of ongoing learning and the enthusiastic and thoughtful team.
When not at work, Colleen is usually spending time with her family and friends, ideally outdoors in the forest or at the beach.
