Emily is an Occupational Therapist, a certified Forest Therapy Guide, and a mindfulness facilitator. She is passionate about health promotion and about providing high quality holistic care. Emily believes that her clients are experts on themselves and she takes a collaborative approach in integrating her professional expertise with individual’s lived experiences.

 Emily completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at McMaster University. Prior to joining Tall Tree, Emily gained experience working in rural and remote regions in Northern BC. This involved a broad scope of practice including case management and treatment of a variety of health conditions including chronic pain, mental illness, concussions and neurological disease, and musculoskeletal injuries. Emily has a keen interest in mental health and nature-based therapy. She completed training to facilitate Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and has taken additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed care, concussion management, chronic pain, chronic disease-management, and more! Emily strives to educate and empower her clients to live full and meaningful lives.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and friends, adventuring outdoors, being creative with food, gardening, reading, and enjoying the simplicities of daily life.
