Meet Deleena, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and graduate of the University of Victoria’s master’s degree program in Counselling Psychology. She also holds a degree in Child and Youth Care and has received specialist training in nature-based therapeutic approaches. Deleena is delighted to be part of the Tall Tree team where she can collaborate with other skilled practitioners to provide clients with a comprehensive approach to their health and well-being.

Deleena works with children, youth, and adults to address various concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. She has a particular interest in supporting people with body image issues and grief/loss. Deleena is experienced in providing counselling services to children and youth grappling with moderate to severe mental health concerns, and in working with adults dealing with a diverse range of mental health challenges and addictions.

Deleena’s counselling style is comprehensive and integrated. She draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems, Nature-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help her clients reduce stress and find a greater sense of meaning in their lives.

In her counseling sessions, Deleena employs mindfulness strategies to help clients cultivate awareness of the present moment. She provides a non-judgmental perspective, creating a safe space for clients. Acknowledging the diversity of her clients' backgrounds, Deleena actively tailors sessions to meet individual cultural needs, considering it a privilege to accompany her clients on their therapeutic journeys.

Beyond her professional commitments and dedication to lifelong learning, Deleena loves staying active, doing yoga, travelling/exploring new cultures, and spending time with family.
