Originally from Newfoundland, Lacey came to Canada’s west coast in 2012, and graduated from Victoria’s West Coast College of Massage Therapy in the spring of 2017.
During her training, Lacey became interested in people’s varying experience of pain, and completed an in-depth case study on chronic low back pain and nervous system sensitization. This led her to a belief in treating through a biopsychosocial model of care, which incorporates a more complex view of the elements that contribute to pain, and aims to treat the whole person. To that end, she believes in the importance of creating a safe and supportive space for each client to be heard, and to work together on a treatment plan that best serves their needs.
Since graduation, Lacey has pursued continuing education in crainosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and muscle energy techniques. Alongside these modalities, treatment can also incorporate myofascial release, joint mobilization, and Swedish massage. Lacey enjoys treating people with a wide variety of concerns, and has a particular interest in chronic pain, headaches, respiratory & rib conditions, TMJ issues, and depression & anxiety. Above all, she enjoys helping people tune in to their body to release stress or tension, and move toward greater health and well-being.
Outside of work, Lacey is also a printmaker, curator, and book editor.
