Emily grew up in the Comox Valley living a very active and healthy lifestyle. From the time she was three years old, Emily has been actively involved in a variety of sports, with swimming and running being her main focus. Emily was a competitor and Coach with the Blue Devils Summer Swim Team for ten years. After realizing her passion for the sport, she became a Lifeguard/Red Cross Swim Instructor at the Comox Valley Regional District, the City of Courtenay and the Comox Military 19 Wing Base for five years.
On top of this, Emily had a strong passion for running, competing in multiple races all over the island, up until an unfortunate injury that caused her to give up the sport. After suffering this injury, and going through treatments, Emily realized that she had a fascination with sports and sports related injuries and she wanted to incorporate this into a career so that she could help others. For this reason, she decided to enroll at the University of Victoria, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Kinesiology.
After her undergraduate degree, Emily plans to continue her education by attending graduate school so she can pursue a career in naturopathic medicine. Throughout her schooling, Emily continues to live an active, healthy lifestyle, working out daily and exploring the many different hiking places throughout Victoria as often as she can.
