Alex grew up right here in Cordova Bay. In fact, she worked at Mattick’s Farm Mini Golf every summer throughout high school. It was during this time that Alex became interested in fitness and working out. After her high school volleyball season ended and she was no longer playing sports, Alex quickly realized that she felt better both physically and mentally with an active lifestyle. Alex soon found CrossFit, and after graduating from high school she went on to coach for over 7 years between 2006 and 2014. Alex competed on a team at the CrossFit Canada West Regionals in 2010, 2011, and 2012, winning two gold medals, and went on to compete with the team at the CrossFit Games in Carson, California in 2010 and 2012.

Outside of the gym, Alex completed her undergraduate degree in kinesiology at the University of Victoria in 2011. She began working as a kinesiologist in an interdisciplinary rehab setting in January 2012. Since graduation, she has advanced her clinical skills through continued education in the treatment of persistent pain, functional exercise, and optimizing biomechanics and ergonomics. She specializes in helping people return to work and activity following injury, and enjoys creating exercise programs designed specifically for each client’s individual needs and goals. Alex loves to witness firsthand as her clients reach their goals in the gym and how that translates to empowering them in real life.

During her free time, Alex likes to do active things outdoors. Her favourite activities include hiking and backpacking, snowboarding, and biking. Alex also has a passion for travel and spent 9 months in New Zealand in 2015 and 3 months in the UK in 2016. Her love for travel and the outdoors is rivaled only by her passion for a good cup of coffee.
